People often think interior design starts with cho People often think interior design starts with choosing paint...

In reality, it usually starts with floor plans, measurements, conversations and understanding how people really live.

Every decision has a purpose.

When the practical planning is right, the beautiful finishes naturally follow.

It's one of my favourite parts of the design process.
Thinking of selling your home? Before you reduce Thinking of selling your home?

Before you reduce the asking price, ask yourself this...

Does your home show buyers its full potential?

Often, a few simple styling changes using what you already own can completely change how a property feels.

As a professional home stager, I help homeowners present their homes in the very best light for photography and viewings, without expensive renovations or buying lots of new furniture.

Sometimes it's the smallest changes that make the biggest difference.

As the summer continues, it's the perfect time to As the summer continues, it's the perfect time to make your home feel lighter, calmer and more connected to the outdoors.

Simple changes like fresh flowers, natural textures, lighter fabrics and carefully styled accessories can completely change the feel of a room.

You don't always need a full redesign to fall back in love with your home.
Looking back at one of my favourite projects... O Looking back at one of my favourite projects...

One of the things I love most about interior design is helping clients see the potential in their home.

This project transformed an ordinary extension into a bright, welcoming space that feels like it has always belonged.

Thoughtful layouts, carefully chosen materials and attention to the little details all came together to create a home that works beautifully for everyday life.

Every project tells a different story, and it's always a privilege to be part of that journey.

Do you love pattern but struggle to know how to us Do you love pattern but struggle to know how to use it in your home?

The good news is there are no hard and fast rules, but these tips will help you create a scheme that feels balanced and intentional:

You can use pattern to highlight a space. For example a floral fabric used to dress your window draws your eye.

Don’t just think of pattern in wallpaper and fabric. Use your imagination, tiles are great for adding pattern.

Pick one starting pattern that is bold and then add smaller patterns and plains in coordinating colours.

Remember, pattern adds personality. Whether it's through wallpaper, fabrics, tiles or artwork, don't be afraid to have a little fun with it.

Let me know how you get on.

Ever wondered how you can tell someone's an interi Ever wondered how you can tell someone's an interior designer?

Here are a few clues...

Their holiday photos are mostly hotel interiors and interesting architecture

They refer to paint colours by names like Elephant's Breath and Dead Salmon

They can't walk past a crooked picture frame without fixing it

Their camera roll is full of lighting, tiles and furniture inspiration

Every hotel stay becomes "research"

They have enough fabric samples to open their own showroom

Guilty as charged! Which one sounds most like you?
There's something magical about wisteria season. There's something magical about wisteria season.

Whilst my work focuses on interiors, I firmly believe our gardens and outdoor spaces should feel like an extension of our homes.

The colours, textures and natural beauty we see outside often inspire the palettes and materials I use inside too.

As we move into summer, it's the perfect time to think about how your home flows between indoors and out.

A coffee table may be practical, but it's also one A coffee table may be practical, but it's also one of the hardest-working pieces in your living room from both a design and functionality perspective.

1. Don't limit yourself to just one coffee table. Clustering or spacing out multiple tables can create a relaxed and sophisticated ambiance.

2. Look for a coffee table that contrasts with the rest of the room, introducing visual tension through unique shapes or materials.

3. Position your coffee table 30-45cms away from your sofa or main seating areas for optimal functionality. Experiment by taping a mock up shape and size to the floor to get a feel for the space.

4. Hunt for hidden treasures at second hand shops (including online) and car boot sales. Paired or nesting tables are often found this way and offer unique and affordable choices.

The best coffee table isn't necessarily the most expensive. It's the one that suits your space, lifestyle and how you actually live.

One of my favourite parts of any project is select One of my favourite parts of any project is selecting the fabrics, finishes and materials that will bring a design scheme to life.

I've recently been working on a living room transformation and have been surrounded by fabric samples, textures and colour combinations whilst pulling together the final scheme.

It's often these carefully considered details that elevate a space and help it feel cohesive, personal and beautifully finished.

Which fabric would you choose?

Do you ever look around your home and wonder why i Do you ever look around your home and wonder why it still feels cluttered, even when it's tidy?

Often it's not about having too much stuff, but how that stuff is displayed.

Here are a few simple tricks I use to help spaces feel calmer and more organised to live in and prepare them for sale:

• Leave some empty space on shelves and bookcases
• Limit the number of cushions and accessories
• Curate decorative items rather than displaying everything
• Stick to a cohesive colour palette
• Plan gallery walls carefully before hanging
• Don't automatically push all your furniture against the walls

Sometimes small styling changes can make a huge difference to how a room feels.
Which tip are you going to try first?

One of the things I love most about my job is look One of the things I love most about my job is looking back at completed projects and seeing just how far they’ve come.

This extension transformation remains one of my favourites. Not because it’s the biggest project I’ve worked on, but because of how seamlessly the new space connects with the original home.

A well-designed extension should feel as though it has always been there, enhancing the way you live while adding light, functionality and character.

It’s been lovely recently reflecting on some of my favourite projects and the wonderful clients I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Thinking about transforming your home? I'd love to hear about your plans.
